This photo shoot was a long time coming because we had previously corresponded with Jess and her Mum on Instagram in an attempt to set up a photoshoot.

As luck would have it, we both attended a collaboration photoshoot hosted by the good folk at https://www.instagram.com/seqnorthside/

I think the thing I like best about these photos of Jessica Welling is the lighting. It was one of my first times using a Godox Flash in off-camera mode. Before this, I had been so self-conscious and was totally nervous about carrying a flash on a tripod.

But it worked – and the be fair I needed the extra light because the trees cut out a lot of light – and I think the photos came up nicely.
