Photography for Aspiring Brisbane Teenage Models

Want to become a famous teenage model? Then listen up!

We know that becoming a model and social media influencer is a popular aspiration for teenagers. And as a Brisbane teenage influencer, you are no exception!

Social Media Fame and Fortune

With the power of IG and TikTok, FB, Pinterest and others, it is possible to gain a HUGE following and even monetize that following. It’s a fun way to make friends, gain a following and make money!

However, it takes more than just a pretty face to make it as a model and social media influencer.

It takes hard work, dedication, and collaboration with photographers to create stunning visuals that will capture the attention of your audience.

Want to become internet famous and start being approached by brands and businesses?

Here’s how you can work with our photography business to become a successful model and social media influencer.

Step 1: Build Your Model Portfolio

Before you can start collaborating with photographers, you need to have a portfolio to showcase your skills and style.

Start by taking some selfie headshots and full-body shots in different outfits and poses. You can use your smartphone camera or a friend’s camera to get started.

Photographers are looking for a model with confidence, style, and a friendly personality.

Now the best poses for teenagers are poses that get your arms away from your body. Think bent elbows with one hand on your hips and one hand cupping your cheek, or on your head, or on your hips. Bending your arms shows off your figure and reduces the bulk around your waist.

For example, try copying Layla’s moves and vibe in this video of Peter Coulson’s for some inspiration.

Get some photos of yourself together, start posting online, and get ready for the next step!

Step 2: Reach out to Teenage Model Photographers

Once you have started your portfolio, it’s time to start reaching out to photographers to collaborate on photoshoots.

You can find portrait photographers like Brisbane fashion photographer Matt Cornell in your local area through social media. Also, look out for TFP Facebook pages and photographers on Instagram.

Reach out with a friendly message, and some information about yourself, and share your social media profiles from Step 1.

Be professional and polite in your communication

Don’t be afraid to follow up if you don’t hear back.

A lot of photographers like Matt Cornell are looking for new models and teen influencers in Brisbane to work with. We charge a small fee for our beginner model photography sessions and we’re sure you’ll be delighted with the quality of our photos.

Don’t be discouraged if the photographer you reach out to is too busy. Perhaps they can keep you in mind for future work!

Step 3: Collaborate on photoshoots

When you find a good teen model photographer like Matthew Cornell, it’s time to start collaborating on photoshoots.

This is where the magic happens!

Work together to come up with a concept for the shoot, including the location, outfits, and poses.

Bring your own ideas to the table and be open to the photographer’s suggestions as well.

For example, we use a Google Form to give you some choices for your photoshoots.

Word of warning: If you are younger than 18 years old, always bring an adult (parent or guardian) with you to photoshoots. Always. Every time! Good photographers will want you to. Great photographers will insist on this. Don’t go to a photoshoot alone if you are under 18 years of age!

During the shoot, communicate openly with the photographer and take direction well. The more you work together, the more comfortable you will become with each other, and the better the results will be.

Step 4: Build your Social Media Presence

Once you have some stunning photos from your photoshoots, it’s time to start building your social media presence.

Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, and Pinterest are all great places to start. Think about posting some videos on Youtube too.

Start posting your photos with engaging captions and hashtags.

Engage with your audience by responding to comments and messages, and collaborate with other influencers and brands to expand your reach. Remember that building a social media presence takes time and effort, so be patient and persistent.

Don’t forget: other social media influencers aren’t your competition online – they are your colleagues so reach out and make friends.

Step 5: Monetize your following

As your social media following grows, you may have the opportunity to monetize your following through sponsored posts, brand collaborations, and even modeling gigs.

Make sure to only work with brands and companies that align with your values and brand image.

Be transparent with your audience about sponsored posts and always disclose any partnerships.

Where possible, and preferably every time, thank the photographer that provided the photos in your posts. You’ll find the photographer will tag you in their photos and you both get some followers!
